ASX LISTED SUPPLY CHAIN COMPANY
THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY WORKPLACE
The expiry of their previous lease provided the ideal opportunity for this ASX listed supply chain company to rethink how they work and to select a more suitable location for their growing business.
Over a six month period, we supported the client with the site selection process and tested a variety of sites to determine which one represented the best value for money, greater access to their labour pool, and opportunities for cost saving integration.
Embracing our client’s circular economy ethos, we were inspired to design a workplace that showcases numerous sustainable initiatives. Taking inspiration from the client’s zero product waste to landfill target, Davenport Campbell set out to reduce waste in the set out of partitions, wall linings and finishes; creating rectilinear spaces that maximise efficiency in construction.
A key element in the reduction of environmental impact was the innovative use of bamboo.
As the fast-growing timber species on the planet, the sustainability and performance of bamboo was embraced in joinery, furniture, workstations and partitions. A striking reception counter was designed to be assembled without the need for adhesives or metal fixings, and bamboo partitions were locally manufactured in NSW and used in lieu of traditional aluminium. With product lifecycle as a key driver, each of these elements can be reused or recycled at the end of their project life.
To create an inclusive and equitable workplace, a range of ‘introverted and extroverted’ spaces were designed to take individuals from high activity areas with high ceilings and exposed services through to quieter, sheltered spaces for focused work.
By focusing on social engagement, togetherness, flexibility and hybrid ways of working, we are thrilled to see this space drawing employees back to a physical workplace and promoting an authentic connection with the company’s values and purpose.
This treetop workplace promotes an authentic connection with the company’s values and purpose, drawing employees back to a physical workplace with spaces to support social engagement, togetherness, flexibility and hybrid ways of working.
