NATIONAL WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION AWARD
We are proud to announce that we have won the National Women in Construction Award for Team Innovation. Sponsored by the Master Builders Association this award recognises a group of women within a project that have demonstrated their substantial contribution to a successful property development and implementation of innovative work practices. In this case the development was for the Honeybee Childcare Centre at Darling Park Sydney, undertaken in collaboration with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia as the client and CBRE as the project managers.
The Honeybee Child Care Centre has given more CommBank parents the option to return to work with greater ease and speed following parental leave.
The centre has become a point of pride for CommBank employees. Even if they don’t use the centre, working for an employer who has made a significant investment to support the balance between work and family life has proven to have a positive impact on staff engagement.
Parent feedback to date has been amazing – the parents love the quality of the centre, its location and the child care provider that was chosen.
This is the first child care centre built and owned by CommBank – traditionally, the organisation takes space in an existing centre rather than having its own dedicated facility. Given the success of this project, CommBank are now considering building more child care centres in the future –a great measure of success.
This is the second year in a row that Davenport Campbell has won this award, something we put down to the innovative approach we take to co-creation with our clients and passion for doing great things.
