GARMA COMMUNITY HALL OPENING

Earlier this year, a group of volunteers from NSW, ACT and VIC travelled to the remote Nepalese town of Garma to help with the construction of a community hall.

The official opening of the community hall in August marked the completion of a four year program in the farming village to rebuild the local school following the devastation caused by the 2015 earthquakes.

This achievement was made possible by the generous contributions of our sponsors. On behalf of the school and community in Garma, we would like to thank sponsors, volunteers and The Friends of NAWIC for their ongoing support of this fantastic cause.

We now begin a new chapter working closely with Garma School, along with the Australian Himalayan Foundation to conduct a three year educational support program, Graduate and Elevate.

You can find out more about the program here.

If you would like to be involved please get in touch.
